State Of The Diamond

I played softball from the time I could put a glove on through high school and during those years played with several different competitive travel softball teams. After college I hung my cleats up, but immediately got involved as a coach. My cousins started with PCSA 10 years ago on the first 8U team and the youngest one is still a member of the 18U team. I have played multiple roles with PCSA in the last 10 years including cheerleader, assistant coach, board member, board secretary, and now President. I am a teacher and high school coach by day and sports fanatic by night. I look forward to continuing helping and watching this organization grow and create well-rounded and successful athletes.

There are nine board members, including myself, and we are ALL volunteers, who also have full-time jobs. All of our coaches (both head and assistant) are volunteers as well. PCSA cannot exist without the support and hard work of volunteers and parents. With this in mind, I would like to remind everyone that the board works very hard and is always looking out for the good of our young ladies, but we CANNOT accommodate everyone, and all deserve to be treated with respect at all times.

Our yearly operating budget is over $70,000 for 8 teams uniforms, equipment, games, tournaments, banners and insurance. Therefore, we have to keep our general fund healthy as well as each team’s budget. The general funds and corporate sponsors (we can always use help getting more of these) will cover operational expenses, rate reductions for volunteers and families with multiple players, additional personal equipment and team equipment for all our players. We have also experienced a rising cost to tournament and umpire fees as well as other costs necessary for us to provide optimal opportunities to each and every player in our organization. We have some of the lowest player fees around for competitive softball programs and we are one of the very few who have their own indoor facilities to be able to continue to operate all winter long. Our board works diligently to ensure that finances do not deter any player by looking for sponsors as well as working with other local service organizations for donations to help us provide necessary scholarships.
